Abstract
Physico-chemical and mineralogical properties of three clays from the outskirts of Trivandrum were studied with a view to evaluating their suitability in the paper, ceramic, rubber and other industries. The results indicate that they are essentially kaolinite in nature and are very much suitable particularly for ceramic and rubber industries. The two clays namely Thonnakkal grey and Pallipuram white can, however, be used for paper industry only after bleaching.
