Abstract
The application of infrared spectroscopy as a follow-up of the process of cement manufacture has been demonstrated with the help of infrared spectroscopic characterization of kiln feed and clinker samples obtained from a vertical shaft kiln plant as well as of ring samples collected from a rotary kiln. The possibility of employing the infrared spectroscopic technique for a broad quality control of ordinary portland cement and clinker has also been highlighted.
