Abstract
Pozzolanic activity of some artificial pozzolanas having widely different chemical and mineralogical composition has been studied in relation to their specific surfaces. It has been observed that there is no direct relationship between specific surface and pozzolanic activity. Chemical and mineralogical compositions have a very important role. For samples having the same chemical and mineralogical compositions but different specific surface values, the activity increases with specific surface but the rate of increase in activity gradually decreases and finally becomes negligibly small. The maximum activity obtained is different for different materials.
