Abstract
Sintering behaviour of tho ria powders prepared from oxalate, carbonate and tannate by calcination at 600°C and 1000°C have been studied during hot pressing, in a graphite die heated by induction. Dimensional changes cif the powder compact during sintering were followed and shrinkages were determined under different experimental conditions up to a temperature cif 1300°C. An attempt has been made to relate the sintering behaviour qf the various thoria powders with their origin and thermal history.
