Abstract
An investigation was made on the hydraulicity of slag in the system Ca0-Al20 3-Si02, prepared by melting in oxy-acetylene flame followed by quenching in water. Compressive strength of lime-slag mixtures and absorption rif lime by slag during hydration were measured. Results showed that ( 1) increase rif both GaO and Al20 3 in the slag increase slag hydraulicity, (2) lime is absorbed by slag during hydration, the amount depending upon GaO content rif slag and its hydraulicity, (3) decrease rif hydraulicity due to decrease of GaO content rif slag can be partially compensated by an increase of lime in lime-slag mixture.
