Pages : 104-107
DOI : 10.1080/0371750X.1958.10855378
Abstract
This paper contains the results of an attempt made to use Indian sillimanite and kyanite for the purpose of making insulating bricks. In both cases fireclay has been used as binding material. Saw dust has been used in the case of sillimanite to impart cellularity and in the case of kyanite to act as a padding for its expansion. Trials made were successful. Chemical analyses, thermal conductivity, cold crushing strength and other physical properties have been mentioned.
