| In all text books on chemical analysis, the total
iron in chrome ore is reported as FeO. But both FeO
and Fe2 03 are always present in it. With increased use
of chrome refractories in furnaces, it has become now
necessary to know the proportion of these oxides, which
evidently will give an idea as to the mineral aggregates in
the raw material, i. e., chrome ore and th~ percentage
of other bodies to be mixed with it, in order to produce
materials of desired properties and refractoriness. |
