| Abstract |
| Dolomite is so named by Sausure in 1796 in honour of
the French Geologist Dolomieu who announced some of the
marked characteristics of the rock in 1791, viz, its not effervescing
with acids, while burning like limestone, and its being
soluble in acids after heating. |
