| Abstract |
| Titanium dioxide is finding increasing applications in the
induStry. It has eStablished itself as a valuable pigment in the
manufacture of white paints on account of its superior covering
,power, opacity, whiteness, high refractive index and resiStance
to Staining by the noxious gases present in the air of manufacturing
towns and drainage water. It is also an important chemical, the
use of which in leather, silk, glass, ceramics and soap manufacture
is rapidly increasing. Lately TiO., has been used in the metallurgical
induStry in the preparation of ferro-titanium and aluminium•
