Abstract
Photon correlation spectroscopy or dynamic light scattering is now an accepted technique for the determination of the ceramic particle size. However, the power of the technique is more fully utilized in dynamic experiments in which the time evolution of the particle size can be monitored. This aspect of the technique is illustrated by examples showing kinetics of flocculation of alumina particles in dilute suspensions. Limitations of the technique, especially with respect to the determination of the size distributions are discussed.
