| Abstract |
| The fast growing steel production along with other measures has
necessitated introduction of large LD converters up to 400 T.
The technical developments of converter-refractories by enrichment
of carbon in basic refractories, improving the binder quality,
introducing hot pressing technique and tempering practice for improvement
of shelf life, have been discussed. A short review of magcarbon
bricks has been made in this respect. |
